OUR STORY

Our main focuses within our breeding program are to produce top quality Presa Canario's with sound temperments, correct type to meet the breed standards with champion pedigrees. Our Presa's will be from Show/Working pedigrees and good representatives of the breed in mind, body and spirit. We believe in Quality, not quantity so will have a limited amount of litters, we will pair our dogs based on pedigrees and type to maintain the heritage of this wonderful breed and better the offspring that we produce with the highest amount of integrity.

Our history with the Perro dePresa Canario began in 2013 when we purchased our first female. Since, we have discovered what an incredible breed this dog is; naturally protective, obedient, loyal and a great family companion. After our personal experience, extensive research and speaking to breeders we decided to start our small hobby breeding program so that others can also enjoy this amazing breed. All of our dogs are first and foremost family members, they live in the house with us and will not be subject to kennel life and we expect the same from anyone who is considering purchasing one of our dogs. We are located in Wetaskiwin County, South of Edmonton, Alberta on ten acres where our Presa's are able to run free and enjoy plenty of room to explore. All of our Presa's and some of the lucky puppies who stay with us a while are fortunate enough to attend work with me! This makes all the difference in training and I'm sure our dogs appreciate being able to tag along at every turn. All of our dogs/puppies have been exposed to children, horses, other dogs, people and are well socialized.

As mentioned above, we will have a limited amount of litters per year as our females need time aside from being mothers. Any of our females must reach two years of age before being bred. This allows them to enjoy being a puppy and to have the opportunity to properly grow before having to provide for a litter. We also do not breed our dogs every heat cycle, we believe their body needs a chance to reset and rest after a litter therefore depending on her cycle; our females are only bred once every 1 - 2 years.

We encourage you to do your research on this breed. When dealing with a large, powerful dog undesirable traits can be learned if they are not socialized and trained properly.
